How we work
Clear steps. Fixed fees. A full team.
CloudSkill Consulting LLC brings a shared plan to your cloud work. We connect your goals, agreed milestones and team responsibilities.
From your needs to a working setup
Discover
We learn about your current setup, the work your teams do and the changes you want to make.
We discuss what is working, what is difficult and which changes matter most. You get a shared view of priorities before the team starts designing a solution.
Design
We turn your needs into a shared plan, with clear milestones, responsibilities and agreed work.
We explain the proposed approach and the work included in each milestone. You get an agreed scope, a cloud design and fixed fees tied to that work.
Deliver
We carry out the agreed cloud work and check that each milestone delivers what you planned.
We connect the agreed work with checks and practical guidance for your team. You get a clearer view of what changed and how the delivered setup supports your needs.
Operate
We help your team understand the new setup, manage routine tasks and plan for future changes.
We explain how your team can use the setup and keep responsibilities clear. You get guidance for routine management and a starting point for discussing future changes.
Fixed fees, by milestone
A milestone is an agreed part of the work. Its scope (the work included), expected outcome and fee give you a shared point of reference. Instead of measuring progress only through hours spent, you can discuss the work that has been agreed. You can also see how each milestone fits into the wider project. We do not bill consulting by the hour.
Fixed fees, by milestone
- You agree on the scope (the work included) and fee for each milestone before that work starts.
- A milestone is an agreed part of the project. You know what that part should deliver and what to review.
- You pay for the agreed work, not hours spent. This keeps conversations focused on the plan and its outcomes.
Hourly billing
- You pay based on time spent, rather than an agreed fee for a defined part of the work.
- The total depends on the hours billed. Changes in the time required can make the overall cost harder to plan.
- Time spent alone does not explain what was delivered. You still need a clear scope and a way to review results.
Your cloud team
Each team has a cloud architect, FinOps lead, platform engineer and program manager. FinOps (managing and lowering cloud costs) keeps spending part of the design conversation. A platform (a shared setup for engineers) connects that design with practical tools. The program manager keeps the work, responsibilities and milestones clear. These roles work together because cloud decisions affect more than one part of your project.
Cloud architect
Your cloud architect plans how apps, data, networks and access fit together. They connect technical choices with your project needs. Their work gives the team a shared design to follow.
FinOps lead (cloud cost lead)
Your FinOps lead helps you understand cloud spending and find possible waste. They connect costs with the teams and services using resources. Their work supports clearer choices about what to keep or change.
Platform engineer
Your platform engineer builds shared tools and setups for the people working on your apps. They make agreed tasks easier to repeat. Their work helps teams follow a common approach instead of rebuilding the same setup.
Program manager
Your program manager connects the project plan with the people doing the work. They keep milestones, responsibilities and decisions clear. Their work helps you understand what happens next and where your input is needed.
Keep the work and the people aligned
Cloud work can involve changes to apps, costs, access and everyday engineering tasks. A shared plan helps your team understand how those changes relate. During discovery, you can describe the difficulties your team faces and the outcomes you want to discuss. During design, those needs become a clearer scope and a sequence of agreed milestones.
Delivery focuses on the agreed work and the checks that support it. The operate stage connects that work with your team’s ongoing use of the cloud setup. If your project also needs skilled engineers, IT staffing can support our cloud teams. Our cloud leads stay involved while those engineers join your project.
Before starting a conversation, consider your current setup, the changes you need and the people already involved. You do not need a finished technical plan to explain a business concern. A clear description of the problem gives us a useful starting point for discussing your cloud work.
