About

A senior-only cloud advisory, built for the workloads that cannot fail.

CloudSkill Consulting was founded by a small group of cloud principals who had spent a decade watching the same patterns play out: ambitious migrations stalled by architectural debt, cost programs that quietly slipped backwards, platform teams stretched across too many priorities. We built CloudSkill to be the partner we wished we'd had — opinionated, accountable, and senior from top to bottom.

Our principle

Every CloudSkill engagement is led by an architect with at least a decade of production cloud experience. There is no bench of juniors quietly learning on your migration. The person who scoped the work is in the room at design reviews, at cutover, and at the quarterly business review six months after go-live. Continuity is not a service line — it is the operating model.

Our craft

We hold more than 180 active certifications across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Expert, and FinOps Certified Practitioner. But certifications describe the floor, not the ceiling. What distinguishes a CloudSkill architect is taste — the judgment to know when to refactor and when to ship, when a managed service earns its premium and when it does not.

What we believe

Cost is an architecture decision.

FinOps lives in the design review, not the monthly invoice. We tag, model, and budget before a single resource is provisioned.

Migration is a product, not a project.

We ship migration like product teams ship features — wave by wave, with runbooks, golden paths, and observable rollback.

Platforms compound.

An internal platform that saves twenty engineers an hour a week is worth more than any single optimization. We invest accordingly.

Security is the substrate.

Identity, network, and policy controls are designed before workloads land — not retrofitted under audit pressure six months later.

Senior is the minimum.

Every architect, every FinOps lead, every platform engineer is hired at principal level. There is no other tier.

Outcomes are contractual.

Engagements ship against named milestones with fixed fees. Hourly billing creates the wrong incentives.

The CloudSkill operating model

We assemble pods. Each pod is staffed with a lead architect, a FinOps practitioner, a platform engineer, and an embedded program manager. Pods are sized to outcomes — not to billable hours — and remain stable for the life of the engagement. Specialists in security, data, networking, and SRE rotate in as the design requires, drawn from a deep bench of named experts your team will meet by week two.

Engagements typically start within 48 hours of scoping. The first deliverable — a prioritized opportunity map covering architecture, cost, security, and reliability — lands within two weeks. From there, design, delivery, and operate phases run on fixed-fee milestones with shared dashboards, weekly architecture office hours, and a single point of accountability for everything the pod has touched.
