You will help build systems that handle transactions and alerts the moment they happen.

• Write Kafka programs that send and receive events.
• Build fast event-processing apps in Java with Kafka Streams and Spring Kafka.
• Tune and monitor the setup so events are not lost or handled twice.

• 6+ years of experience.

• Able to work onsite in New York, NY (Onsite 5d).
• Open to a 12+ month contract, on W2 or C2C.

The project

Project: Event-driven architecture build-out for real-time transaction and alert processing.

Duties

• Design and implement Kafka producers and consumers with Avro schemas and Schema Registry
• Build Kafka Streams and Spring Kafka applications for low-latency event processing
• Tune partitions, retention, and consumer groups for throughput and ordering guarantees
• Integrate Confluent Platform, Connect connectors, and JMX/Grafana monitoring
• Implement exactly-once semantics, dead-letter queues, and replay strategies
