You will help update a large, busy transaction system by moving older parts into small, separate services.

• Build small web services (microservices) in Java.
• Split big, older code into smaller parts that run in containers (packaged apps).
• Test your code, speed up slow parts and review other people's code.

• 6+ years of experience.
• A work authorization that matches the line under "Who can apply" below.
• Able to work onsite in Mount Laurel, NJ (Onsite 5d).
• Open to a 12+ month contract, on W2 or C2C.

The project

Project: Modernization of a high-volume transaction platform, moving older services to a microservices architecture.

Duties

• Design and build RESTful microservices with Java 11/17, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud
• Lead decomposition of monolithic modules into containerized services deployed on OpenShift
• Write unit and integration tests with JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber, holding 85%+ coverage
• Tune JVM performance, thread pools, and SQL for high-volume batch and real-time flows
• Own code reviews, sprint grooming, and production release war-room rotation
